Visual Designer & Art Director

John J. Kim is a New York-based multidisciplinary visual designer and art director who specializes in digital product and web design with a passion for craftsmanship and elegant user experience.

His background in traditional graphic design and illustration, combined with strong systems thinking, front-end development knowledge, and extensive experiences in end-to-end digital product design, makes him a uniquely versatile user interface and experience designer. He tends to draw inspirations from architecture, and is interested in its connection to interface and experience design.

After receiving a B.F.A. in Communications Design from Pratt Institute, he has worked for 6+ years as a visual designer and user experience designer at digital agencies like AKQA, A Different Engine, Sequence, and Cake & Arrow in New York City.

He has been a visiting instructor in Undergraduate Communications Design Department at Pratt Institute since August 2016.
