John J. Kim is a New York-based multidisciplinary visual designer and art director who specializes in digital product and web design. His passion is in improving people's lives and encouraging meaningful human interactions through crafting beautiful visual design and elegant user experience.
His background in traditional graphic design and illustration, combined with strong systems thinking and extensive experiences in end-to-end digital product design, makes him a uniquely versatile user interface and experience designer. He tends to draw inspirations from architecture, and is interested in its connection to interface and experience design.
After receiving a B.F.A. in Communications Design from Pratt Institute, he has worked as a visual designer and user experience designer at digital agencies like AKQA, A Different Engine, Sequence, and Cake & Arrow in New York City.
He has been a visiting instructor in Undergraduate Communications Design Department at Pratt Institute since August 2016.
